\"1\"<\/a>It\u2019s unknown to us how many times the American Hungarian Friends of Scouting and the Cleveland Hungarian scout troops have held their annual Scout Banquet. But, it is for sure that the 250 guests at the St. Emeric Roman Catholic Church hall on February 21, 2016 went home in a good mood and a full stomach after a delicious meal and an entertaining program. Scout leaders Judith Gyorky and Krisztina Tabor, the event\u2019s chefs, along with their tremendous kitchen help, prepared the luncheon consisting of creamy mushroom soup, stewed beef with vegetables and egg barley. Lajos Mezosi, owner of Transylvania Bakery Shop, capped the menu with his walnut torte filled with apricot jam.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bea Tabor, president of the AHFS, greeted the guests with a few words of welcome. Fr. Andras Mezei, pastor of St. Emeric Parish, opened the luncheon with a prayer before the meal. Our young adult scouts served up the dinners with expertise. Between courses, scout leader Endre Szentkiralyi presented a report in pictures and a video of the 2015 Scout Jamboree. He thanked all those in attendance who financially supported the camp and helped make it a success. The leader of the Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble, Mathias Tabor, gave a brief insight into the group\u2019s plans for this summer\u2019s 3rd<\/sup> tour of the Carpathian Basin. Plans are to visit parts of old Hungary and the\u00a0Transylvania region of Romania where they will gather and learn about authentic Hungarian traditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the afternoon was complete, beautiful gift baskets provided by adult scout dr. Ildiko Bakos were raffled off to everyone\u2019s delight. On a beautiful winter day everyone went home well fed and with a big, satisfied smile on their face.<\/span><\/p>\n
