-Scouting continues, but we need your help!
The coronavirus pandemic has upended everyone’s normal life. This includes our scouting programs and activities. But, a scout is resourceful! Our weekly scout meetings occur regularly via Zoom video conferencing. Our young men and women in the Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble are reaching out via telephone to the elderly and anyone in need of help or companionship so as not to be alone during these trying times.
While we had a very successful Scout Banquet in February, our 64th Scout Benefit Ball had to be cancelled. These two events, along with our Hungarian Festival on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend (which is still in jeopardy for this year) account for most of our fundraising efforts that benefit the Hungarian scouts in the Cleveland area.
Since we can’t get together for the ball, the American Hungarian Friends of Scouting is holding a Silent Ball for the continued support of our scouts. Our annual fixed expenses amount to about $35,000. We ask those who can, to support this event with your tax deductible donation. If you had planned on attending the ball, please consider an amount at least half the cost of the tickets. Donating options can be found in the left column. Thank you for your help!
