The American Nationalities Movement of Ohio honored scout troop leader Andrea Mészáros with its Freedom Award on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the annual Captive Nations Dinner in the banquet hall of Holy Spirit Church in Parma, Ohio.
The award was presented to Andrea for her many years of work in the Cleveland Hungarian community. Among many positions, she served as a leader and former troop leader of Girl Scout Troop No. 33, and as former president and current vice president of the Cleveland Hungarian Museum. The award was presented by Ralph J. Perk Jr., president of the movement.
