More than 250 meals were prepared for this year’s Scout Banquet, which was organized by the American Hungarian Friends of Scouting on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the church hall of St. Emeric Parish in Cleveland. The scouts dutifully served up the lunch: Hungarian mushroom soup, stewed beef in red wine, spaetzle and garlic roasted carrots, cucumber salad and chocolate rum square for dessert. The chefs were scout leaders Judith Györky and Krisztina (Kiki) Tábor together with their scout colleagues and parents as they professionally prepared the delicacies.
During the luncheon, we introduced the newly graduated leaders of our troops assistant scout officer Zoltán Nádas scout officers Sarah Péter, Enese Pigniczky and Thomas Szigeti. The White Stag Award recipients were scout leaders Elizabeth Balassy and Kriszta Slattery. They were recognized for their many years of scout leadership work. Congratulations to them both!
At the end of the afternoon, several people were even happier to go home with baskets of valuable prizes from the raffle! The AHFS is the supporting organization for the Cleveland scout troops. Thank you for your support!
