The American Hungarian Friends of Scouting in Cleveland held the Hungarian Festival for the 69th time on August 31, 2025, which traditionally coincides with the Labor Day weekend. The event serves to support the local Hungarian scouts every year, and this year it was accompanied by huge interest: nearly 3,000 people participated.
The aim of the event is to support the programs of four scout troops operating in the city: Troop 14 Görgey Arthur, Troop 22 Bessenyei György, Troop 33 Szilágyi Erzsébet, and Troop 34 Zrínyi Ilona, as well as to contribute to camps, trips, camping equipment, bus rentals, meeting space rentals, and the maintenance and development of the Scout Center and the Paul Teleki Scout Park through donations.
Many guests, including Thomas Marshall representing the Hungarian Scout Association in Exteris, along with its Scout Commissioner Irene Dala and Leadership Training Commissioner Réka Varga along with the Chicago Hungarian Consul General’s office representative, László Aradvári, Consul and Diplomat of Hungarian Communities and Csaba Krasznai, the Hungarian Honorary Consul of Ohio, were present.
